Being a voice-over artist is a trade that attracts all manner of people. Many are trained actors, but this is by no means a requirement.
So, what do you need? A pleasant voice and a degree of versatility will get you off to a good start. Arguably the most important skill of all is the ability to understand direction from a producer and respond accordingly.
Voice-overs can open up a world full of possibilities. From radio adverts to television documentaries, from CD ROMs to computer games, from cartoons to telephone on-hold services. The list is virtually endless. That's not to say that, should you choose to be a voice-over artist, you are guaranteed a huge income and a showbiz lifestyle. It is the same as any other performing art, some are hugely successful, others reap more modest rewards.
It's also not to say that you have to aim to do everything. It's unlikely you'll have equal strengths in all areas. At VOXTRAINING, we want to give you a head start in the business with our foundation voice-over course, forewarning and forearming you for what may lie ahead.
